How your notes are kept.
Your notes are the most sensitive thing you write. Here’s where they live, who can see them, and what’s still being checked.
Where your notes live
On your device.
Your notes are encrypted under a key you hold.
One client, one store.
Each client’s notes are kept apart where they’re stored, not filtered out of a shared pile, so no question can reach another client’s notes.
What the model sees.
When you ask something, whichever model answers sees the notes it’s working from, in the clear, at that moment.
Nothing flows to The Wick.
Lanterns come in from clients who use The Wick. Anything you send in is marked as yours, and they can pause or remove it.
Transcripts, then theirs.
With everyone’s yes, you get 24 hours with a transcript, unless the client gives you more time. Then only they have it.
Reviewed before it opens.
The encryption gets an independent review before Lamplighter opens to the public. Anyone in the closed beta is told it hasn’t been reviewed yet.
Starting with unlicensed practices.
Lamplighter is starting with coaches, doulas, guides and other unlicensed practices. It isn’t set up for practices covered by HIPAA yet.
A note to give your clients.
Clients should know how their notes are kept. Lamplighter gives you a plain note to hand them, in words they can check against how it actually works.

How I keep my notes
I keep my session notes in Lamplighter. They stay on my device, encrypted under a key only I hold, and your notes are kept apart from everyone else’s. When I ask Lamplighter about our work, the AI model that answers sees the notes it’s using at that moment. Nothing from my notes goes to anyone else.
No trackers here, either.
This site has no analytics and loads nothing from anyone else. If you join the founding list, your email is used to tell you when Lamplighter opens and, if you ask, to set up a conversation. It’s never sold or shared.
